The Purpose of the Foundation

The purpose of the Medcen Community Health Foundation is to seek and administer charitable gifts supporting the mission of The Medical Center of Central Georgia and its affiliated programs such as Hospice of Central Georgia, The Children's Hospital, the Sylvia Bond Nursing Society, and Carlyle Place. Additionally, Medcen supports community-based programs working to enhance the health status of Central and South Georgia, including Community Health Works and the Central Georgia Cancer Coalition. Through the Foundation, donors help acquire health-related equipment, improve facilities, and develop or expand health programs for our community. The Foundation combines individual gift support to maximize value. It screens and helps select worthy projects within the hospital, affiliated programs, and the community enabling donated dollars to have the greatest impact. Benefactors have the assurance that the performance of funded projects is evaluated by Medcen to assure that contributions are applied to programs with the best possible outcomes.

Generation to GenerationGeneration to Generation

Currently, Medcen Community Health Foundation is engaged in Generation to Generation, a $17 million major campaign. Gifts to the Campaign will support 3 sub-campaigns: $7 million to renovate and add ICU beds; $5 million for various capital needs within The Children's Hospital; and $5 million for the development and construction of an inpatient hospice facility. A successful major campaign generates financial resources which make a significant qualitative difference. All who have a stake in our community’s healthcare will find their participation welcome and highly valued. For more campaign information, call 478-633-1555 or email info@medcenfoundation.org.
