Beginnings is a comprehensive childbirth
focused program which provides education and fitness opportunities prior to
the birth process and then throughout the hospital stay.
Childbirth
education programs are offered on a monthly basis (see the list of programs). After delivery a lactation specialist will visit mothers
who choose to breastfeed their newborn. Since breastfeeding is a learning
process for both baby and new moms, the lactation specialist will also make a phone
call to check on new families after they go home from the Family Birth Center.
The lactation specialist is available for continued support and guidance if breastfeeding
is not going as planned. They are just one phone call away.
