Services and Centers

The Beginnings program is a comprehensive maternity program which provides educational opportunities and support services to expectant parents starting in the prenatal period and continuing through the hospital stay and after discharge from the hospital. Prenatal classes that are offered monthly include prepared childbirth classes, baby care basics, infant CPR, car seat safety, sibling classes and breastfeeding classes. A refresher childbirth preparation class is offered for parents who have previously delivered but want a review of the childbirth process. Tours of the Family Birth Center are included in both the prepared childbirth and refresher classes. For those expectant parents who are not participating in our childbirth classes but would like to tour the Family Birth Center, please call 478 633-2771 to schedule a tour. We encourage all mothers to breastfeed their babies, if possible. A lactation specialist is available to help our breastfeeding mothers get off to a good start while in the hospital and after discharge.
