RN Reentry/Refresher
Program You never really stopped being a
nurse, in your heart, did you? MCCG
invites you to return to nursing through their RN Reentry Program. If you are
an inactive registered nurse, or an active RN who feels somewhat out of touch
with today’s high tech and fast paced health care environment, then MCCG’s RN
Reentry Program can help you successfully return to an active nursing career. MCCG is committed to supporting your
successful transition into your chosen profession. Program Description The MCCG RN Reentry Program is designed to comply with the Georgia Board of Nursing Guidelines for Reentry (available: www.sos.state.ga.us/plb/rn and prepares participants to reenter active nursing practice through review of current nursing knowledge, practices and skills. The
program provides 40 hours of relevant nursing study and 160 hours of supervised
(precepted) clinical experience. Relevant nursing study is accomplished through
a combination of instructor-led classes and self-directed computer based
training. Precepted clinical experiences are available in a variety of nursing
disciplines, including outpatient services, critical care, medical-surgical
nursing and mother-baby services. Flexible
scheduling of precepted clinical experiences and computer based training
resources allow participants to advance through the program at their own pace.
Most participants complete program elements within 7 – 16 weeks; program
elements must be completed within 6 months. Reentry Program Requirements Each
participant must be interviewed minimally by the MCCG Reentry Program
Coordinator (in Each
participant must have a current license (active
or temporary) to practice nursing in the state of Each
participant must provide results of recent TB testing status and a statement
from a physician indicating they may participate in the program without
restrictions. Additional immune status
and history may be required, depending on clinical placement. Each
participant must provide proof of personal professional liability insurance
prior to clinical placement. Program Cost: The cost
of the program is $500.00. This includes fees associated with Basic Cardiac
Life Support class and access to computer-based training modules used in the
