Collaborate with
peers and other departments as appropriate to investigate problems and
concerns and recommend appropriate action for both quality assurance
and performance improvement activities.
Review national
clinical performance data for comparison.
Provide direction
to nursing units in the measurement and assessment of patient care and
clinical performance activities to include data analysis and tool
development.
Review,
coordinate, and prioritize PI proposals according to strategic goals.
Facilitate
approval of projects requiring administrative approval for resources.
Collaborate with
other disciplines to coordinate nursing Performance Improvement
activities with those that involve other areas.
Review activities
for clinically acceptable indicators and use of the 7 step (PI/OI)
model. Evaluate collected data for appropriateness and timeliness of
actions taken.
Maintain a
listing of current/completed quality assurance/ performance
improvement projects and relevant findings to be available to all
clinical staff via the MCCG Intranet.
Provide a monthly
report to the Executive Council and to the CQCC as often as requested,
but no less than semi-annually.
Initiate annual
nursing performance improvement program review and revision, where
indicated.
Maintain
communication from and to NRC related to nursing research being
considered.
