Quality Council
  • Collaborate with peers and other departments as appropriate to investigate problems and concerns and recommend appropriate action for both quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
  • Review national clinical performance data for comparison.
  • Provide direction to nursing units in the measurement and assessment of patient care and clinical performance activities to include data analysis and tool development.
  • Review, coordinate, and prioritize PI proposals according to strategic goals.
  • Facilitate approval of projects requiring administrative approval for resources.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to coordinate nursing Performance Improvement activities with those that involve other areas.
  • Review activities for clinically acceptable indicators and use of the 7 step (PI/OI) model. Evaluate collected data for appropriateness and timeliness of actions taken.
  • Maintain a listing of current/completed quality assurance/ performance improvement projects and relevant findings to be available to all clinical staff via the MCCG Intranet.
  • Provide a monthly report to the Executive Council and to the CQCC as often as requested, but no less than semi-annually.
  • Initiate annual nursing performance improvement program review and revision, where indicated.
  • Maintain communication from and to NRC related to nursing research being considered.
