Nursing Practice Council
- Establish and maintain
a system to develop, review, recommend approval and distribute standards,
policies, and procedures, which relate to or specifically, affect clinical
nursing practice across the organization.
- Define, promote and
integrate standards of clinical nursing practice that are consistent with or
exceed national, regional and community standards of practice.
- Assure nursing practice
standards are ethical, current, evidence-based, theoretically sound and
aligned with the mission, values and strategic goals of CGHS.
- Coordinate clinical
nursing practice initiatives with appropriate unit/service
line/organization-wide nursing councils and other disciplines, committees,
councils, task forces and medical staff as indicated.
- Collaborate with
membership and other disciplines as needed to investigate practice related
problems, issues or concerns and recommend appropriate action for practice
changes.
- Advise membership and
other disciplines regarding nurse practice acts and licensing board rules
and regulations related to nursing practice and patient care within CGHS.
- Facilitate discussion
of concerns, issues and other related activities having an impact on nursing
practice and patient care across the organization.
