CENTRAL GEORGIA HEALTH SYSTEM EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Is the issue of money stopping you from continuing your education? Do you want to pursue a professional career but can’t see how to afford it? Let CGHS’s Educational Assistance Program help! Do you know that CGHS provides assistance to students entering an accredited program where there is a shortage of personnel and/or the degree is deemed valuable to the institution? If you dream of being an RN, MSN, CRNA, Nurse Practitioner, Respiratory Therapist, Physical Therapist, Radiological Technologist or other needed professions which would benefit the organization, contact the Human Resources Department!

Listed below are the minimum qualifications required to participate in the Educational Assistance Program, the loan amounts available and loan repayment information:

Qualifications

  • SAT combined minimum score of 850

  • GPA minimum 2.5

  • Two letters of recommendation

  • Completed Educational Assistance Application

  • Official Letter of Acceptance/Enrollment from the college into an approved field of study

Loan Amounts

  • $5,000 for an Associate’s Degree

  • an additional $5,000 for a Bachelor’s Degree

  • and an additional $5,000 for a Master’s Degree

Loan Repayment

  • Upon successful completion of an approved program of study, loans can be forgiven (paid off) through active regular employment in the approved field of study (a loan does not guarantee employment)

OR

  • Monthly installment payments

The Educational Assistance Program is available to individuals outside CGHS who meet the eligibility requirements and who are interested in pursuing a health care career.
